Builders Tips:
1. 1998 and 1999 2.7L engines have a main tensioner with bolt threads on it to screw in.
2. 2000 and later 2.7L engine have a main tensioner without any threads on it.
3. Beware the gear where the cam sensor picks up. The hole pattern for the cam sensor changes depending on the computer, NGC or SBEC. Make sure you install the identical gear so that the engine starts and runs correctly without a check engine light. Always compare the old gear to the new one you plan on installing to avoid any headaches. |
