What is a core charge? Your engine and some of its "core" components have value because they can be reused. Most engines, cylinder heads, camshafts, crankshafts and many engine parts are quoted based on the receipt of a "rebuildable" core. If these parts are damaged beyond repair, expect to pay a core charge as you have to buy another core. In most cases the existing engine parts are useable, but it's important to be aware of this concept. Expect to pay a core charge if you will not be supplying the original component or if that component has been damaged beyond reconditioning.
